It’s coming up Christmas – in case you haven’t seen EVERYWHERE! (I’m sure most people I know already have their tree’s up!)
It’s a time where we’re all so busy & probably super run down because it’s FREEZING here in the UK – so i think it’s best to talk about looking after you, your health and your wellness…
Put the kettle on for this one, you really need to have 5 minutes out to absorb the tips we recommend and to really appreciate 5 minutes away from your busy life.
So…health & wellness…this doesn’t just mean working out, going to the gym & eating well, there’s so much more to it! Looking after your mind as well as your body is SUPER important so take this in…
I used to really struggle to understand the whole mindset thing – I mean, i’m a really happy person, why do I need to read lots of positive things & watch positive videos all the time?
But WOW! It’s so true that you have to look after your mind the way you look after your body.
The power of a strong mindset is a force to be reckoned with!
When you have a strong mindset, you can literally achieve anything you put your mind to.
When my head is ‘in the game’, I get much more done. I’m wayyyy more productive! When you’re productive your mood is instantly lifted, therefore you will be the best version of you, which makes you achieve more, which makes you happier and so on…see what I mean?
The first thing you do straight away as you wake in a morning at the moment is to probably pick your phone up and start scrolling through social media – i’m right aren’t i?
Doing this is so harmful to you – more than you will understand before really thinking about it. You cannot control what you see when you’re looking on your phone. It’s a constant feed of other people’s updates, news flashes, cruelty to animals, stories in the press, celebrity breakups, the weather, disasters in people’s relationships – you name it, you read it!
How do you think seeing and reading all of that first thing in a morning can do you any good? It can’t! If the first thing you see is a picture of cruelty to an animal – that’s imprinted on your mind subconsciously throughout the day.
Then you might see someone moaning about x,y & z on their Facebook about something really negative – that’s imprinted in your subconscious mind all day too – you can see where i’m going with this.
This will set you up for the day & affect you without you realising. You might still feel really upset about what you read or watched and it could easily affect how your mood is for the rest of the day.
That place you’re in – between your alarm going off and completely waking up is when your mind is most absorbent, so it’s crucial that you fill it with happiness, positivity and something that will lift you for the forthcoming day.
Here are a few things you can do without firstly going on your phone and scrolling:
1) Try putting your favourite music on – this will fill you with happy thoughts & positive vibes
2) Get up & dance around to the music you put on – the more you move the better! Plus this wakes you up much quicker than normal!
3) Say some positive affirmations out loud – what you’re grateful for & why. If you have time – write these down in a journal especially for your gratitudes.
4) Drink plenty of water during your working day, especially in the morning. This is perfect for concentration levels too!
5) Read before bed – try not to be on your phone so much. I know it’s hard, especially if you run an online business, but those things can wait until you’re in work mode the following day. (I struggle the most with this one)
I know this one is a bedtime rule but it’s still key not to put anything bad into your mind or something work related because you won’t switch off therefore won’t sleep properly.
To avoid the temptation of scrolling through things….try putting your phone on aeroplane mode until you’re ready to get up and get sh*t done – this way you will be your unstoppable best self!!
Hope this helps!
Remember to look after yourself, protect your mind and be super grateful every single day.
Love to you all
